Dec. 29. 2002 - Another Absence
It's been another long absence since I've written last. I've been keeping relatively busy with the sites and we've tentatively launched http://art.erotimania.com and http://ecards.erotimania.com
With more content going to those new groups soon. I've had the flu over the holidays and am still battling it. Still coughing and congested, and my sleep schedule is way off. I'm hoping it gets settled soon. There are a lot of plans I have for photo shoots and projects in the new year, and they are mostly waiting on better health. Depression is still a mitigating factor, and my ability to cope on a day to day basis varies considerably. I have a very difficult time getting out of the house, I have some agoraphobia of a sorts I suppose, since my anxiety level and ability to cope outside my own controlled realm plummets.
Some times it seems quite remarkable how variable my functioning is. When I am able to do something, I do it well, and still love Domming, still love to attend occasional functions and events. Still love posing for, and taking, photographs, and working a little on the sites, though Wolfe has done more and more of that over the last couple of years with my depression, there are still areas I can work in, and do well in. I think one of the common denominators in all of these things is I can pick and chose when I do them, I can catch myself on an upswing and work something in. Planning ahead for things is difficult because I still have days where I'm essentially non-functional. Very difficult and dark days.
I'm very grateful that I was able to hold it together for the two days we were with Wolfe's family over the holidays. That I was up enough, to get some enjoyment from it.
I miss being able to do more steady and stable work. I think I'm used to being a workaholic, and relieving a lot of my stress through drowning myself in hard work, I'm unable to do that now, when I'm 'stressed' now, I'm pretty much non-functional.
I've decided that Ideally, I won't, even if I can (hopefully) return to the ability to do so, work a 9-5 style job again. We'll see, if necessity requires it, I certainly will, and enjoy work of all kinds, but I think I'm better suited, even in good health, with work where I can set my own schedule.
If that's possible, it's the route I'll go.
My dream is still to have an estate outside of the city, with a 24/7 BDSM lifestyle in place. We'll see if I can get to that point.
Po, the new puppy, is doing well, has a cough though, we'll take him in for shots, and Iggy for his boosters in the beginning of the New Year. The joys and expenses of being a dog parent. Immunization has gotten so expensive, but it's worth it. Then neutering in a few months time will be the next major expense for him.
Looking into opening a BDSM studio locally in February, and hoping that will come to fruition, as personal play space, as well as for photographs, etc. It's a joint venture with Mistress Aya, and I think it could work out very well. The difficulty will be acquiring the right location, close to the center of town, and we want to be above board with who we're renting from, so we'll see what is do-able. It will be nice to have a 'real' dungeon space.
