Sept. 5  2002 - bites and starry knights

Well, we may not be working for a rescue group, but that doesn't seem to stop the onslaught of animals that seem to show up in our neighborhood in need.  This year, it's been a couple of birds so far, and now this dog.   But it seems we call the SPCA at least 3 or 4 times a year.  This amazingly sweet girl was cowering in front of a meat store/deli close to the pharmacy I go to.  You could see all her ribs, and she was drooling from the smell of the store, which had an odor very detectable to the human nose, so to a hungry dog, it must have smelt like heaven.  She had her tail tucked under her body so tight, it caressed her own belly, and every time someone walked by on the sidewalk, she darted well out of the way, and then went back to her drooling post.  I went into the store, and they said she had been there most of the day, and had been there the other day too.  She had no collar on, and I could see the inside of her ears looked red and inflamed even from several feet away.  The day was really hot, and I wondered when the last time she had access to water was.  There was no way I could leave her there, and I was worried if I waited for the SPCA to come to where she was, she may have run off by then.

I decided I had to get her home, and we could call the pound from there.  So, I went into the store, got a bribe... some sausage, took Iggy's little four foot leash off of him, Wolfe carried him in his arms, and I slowly, squatting, making no eye contact, moving sideways, with a leash in one hand, and a big chunk of smelly sausage in the other hand, talking gentle and soothing, managed to get her trust up enough to the point where hunger took over, and she carefully went for the sausage, I didn't let go of the piece, so she had to stay close to eat it from my hand, and when I pulled it away, she remained.  I slipped the slip loop I made of the leash over her head, she stayed still, eyes locked on the sausage, gave her the rest, and off we went!

She was great on the lead, she stayed as far away from us as she could without pulling, she had obviously been on a lead before.  We had about 10 blocks to walk home!  She got nervous every time we passed people, she got very nervous crossing streets, and the only time she did pull a bit was when she got close to alley entrances, so I think she had been on the street for a bit.

We got her home with no problem, she drank, ate, her tail now raised to above body height, with the occasional wag when we praised her, and then she lay down by the door, we left her plenty of space and quiet till the animal control guy came about a half hour later.  She went easily with him, and it was nice to see by the time she was going off with him, she seemed substantially more relaxed.  I feel sorry for the time she will spend in the shelter kennels until she is claimed, or better yet, finds a more responsible home.  Under her exhaustion and fear, she seemed to be an amazingly well tempered girl.  And a beautiful rottie-shepard cross.  In the picture at the top, she had noticed our cat up on the ladder to the loft, and was watching him with a lot of curiosity.

Well, I decided to take some pics of my dog bites.  Though they look ten times better than when they were freshly administered a week ago, I'm lucky that I heal fast.  I think I may have some minor scars from these.  The area around them is a bit red, and I think I have a slight infection, but I think my own immune system should be able to take care of it.  I don't like to take antibiotics.  I should have taken a picture of the dress I was wearing.  The lacerations bled considerably for their size, and the area of my dress over the bite looked pretty gruesome.

The top circle area is the remnants of the bruising that happened, it was a larger area, and in some ways the bruising was the more painful part of it all, the bruising went quite deep, and well, breasts are tender. I had bruising on the other side of the bites, closer to the nipple as well.  The main laceration is the bigger of the two circled areas, and actually met up with the other laceration at the bottom when it was fresh.  The part that still has scabbing over it was the deepest part of the puncture, where the bite started and then was progressively shallower towards the bottom.  Unfortunately, or depending on your perspective, fortunately, the picture doesn't show the lovely detail that is visible in real life.  It looks pretty good on the pic.  Well, if I do scar, I'll at least have 'war wounds' from my fostering days, too bad I couldn't have left with an 'honorable discharge' .  I took another pic to show the laceration on my finger, which is the one that bothers me the most now, it seems to be healing slower, it's deeper throughout, and seems to not want to close up properly, it probably would have been better to have had it stitched, instead, I just used waterproof bandage tape and glued it together for a couple of days, kind of mimicking those little stick-um stitches they use now, butterfly stitches I think they're called.  I really have had enough of going to Dr.'s to last a life time, and now I like to go as little as possible!

Okay, enough of dogs and bites.  Onto starry nights! Well, we leave for vacation tomorrow in the morning, and I'm so psyched.  I can't wait to get to Hornby Island, to be surrounded by nature, ocean, forests, fields, wildlife... and the night sky away from city lights.  Last visit we saw otter, sea lions, dear, eagles, hawks, herons, and more.  I've also brought some fun stuff to do photo shoots in... even on vacation we can't stop working! <laugh> It's okay, we both enjoy doing the photography, and it gives something to fill the leisure time with.  Besides we're hooked on sharing all the little nitty gritty details of our lives with you.  How could we leave you out of the vacation!

Then, when we get back, that night I do the radio show interview! So much to look forward to.

Other things I'm really excited about, and will talk more about when I get back, is MaxArt1, the graphic genius of a submissive foot worshipper who I corresponded a bit with, and has decided to relinquish his works to have a little corner on our foot fetish site.  So we'll update those regularly, and archive the collection for members.

Then, there's the sweet sub I inspected the other day, that I plan to play with more.  Hopefully will start photographing some of that soon, as much of my pleasure in life is derived from sharing my experiences.  He has a journal I hope to incorporate... and maybe... possibly... even a web cam. We'll see, don't want to rush him <smile>.

Then, when I get back, I have a kinky play party to go to on Friday the 13th, that so far I have Mistress Aya, and my houseboy likely accompanying me... hmmm.. two dommes, one submissive, not good, will have to remedy that somehow.

And... I'm going to try to make plans to go to Seattle to, hopefully, sub to an outstanding Domme, who I started corresponding with a while back, and let my subbie side get some experienced intense handling. If I'm lucky see Peter while I'm there.

Also... the radio show airs, and I do a live head shave show that night, and likely have some other fun on camera too.

This, hopefully will prove to be a very good month.

Don't take off on us while we're gone! We'll be back soon enough, with more than ever.

XO
