November 25 - Kanji Invasion!

I have a bit of a fondness for things Asian in flavor, from dim sum, to home decorating, to Japanese school girls, to... well.  Lots of things.  My favorite breed of cats - oriental shorthairs (like Mishima, my cat who recently passed away, I've refrained from getting more oriental shorthairs because unfortunately it seems I am more allergic to them), my favorite breed of dog - Thai ridgeback.  My favorite food - sushi.  If you visit my home, you'll see shoji screens over the window, you'll see tatami placemats on a lacquered black dining table.  You'll see prints by a Japanese-Canadian printmaker, the artist Noburo Sawai on my walls, an acquaintance who I've modeled for off and on over the years.  There are little elements everywhere, too numerous to mention in my home decor, of Asian influence. So, as the site in many ways is an extension of my home, and is how I express my own sense of style, I've been meaning to get some characters up on my site for a long time.  After font surfing the other day, I finally decided to snag and use some for the site.  So here you have it.

The top of my journal is Cat's Life, since Katt is essentially a derivative of Cat. the one with the clix button at the bottom is for picture.  The one for paypal is for Gold.  <grin>  I almost removed the paypal entirely, no one has used it yet, not once, maybe for Christmas someone will send me some holiday gold.

I've had a wonderful weekend, I was blessed enough to have both Wolfe and barbie in the house with me all weekend, we all got on fabulously, there was hardly any tensions at all (usually we have some) but all in all, it kind of felt like family.  Which felt really really good.  I had terrible shoulder pain off and on, which I get sometimes, and with a combination of prescription killer pain killers from barbie, and rubs from Wolfe, combined with lots of loving... well I felt great over all.  Wolfe cooked dinner Friday night, I cooked Saturday night, and barbie cooked Sunday night, and I've just been having too much fun.  We were really quite relaxed, all of us switching around on the two computers to play games, or work on the site, or in barbies case - play games and do homework research.

I started a page to put up on the site, that has details about who I am, who Wolfe is, who Kitty is, Who barbie is.. etc, etc, and it will have some links on it as well.  but it's one of those slow going projects it seems.  Partly because I need to have input from people before I just go blabbing on about them.  The other thing I'm in the process of doing is transcribing all my poetry for the site, and that also is a slow going project.  It's just not that exciting a thing to work on.

I'm also waiting for some copies of pictures from the friends we did the big photo shoot with, the one where I did the shoe table, along with a bunch of other scenarios.  Once I have those pictures, I can compile them all and put them up.  So I'm in limbo land right now, and it's good... because I'm feeling rather lazy in the creativity department... no really I am.  I've only done light work on the site this weekend, just a few hours a day, instead of my usual 10 hour stints.  <grin>  I need a new hobby... I need a new site!  I wish I could get it together to do the hair site.

The other thing I keep meaning to do is to make a photo tour of my home.  For you really nosey people.  (for you really really nosey people I'll  even show you what's inside the cupboards! - hmm maybe I should stick it in the members area... )

That's it for now, I know, not an exciting entry... they come in all different shapes and sizes these journal entries do.
