January 10
I spent a day finding and creating
backgrounds for the pillow book. A true labour of love, looking
at images of Japanese fabrics and papers. I thought originally I
would go with a seasonal theme, and start the January entries with
some austere background, but I can't. Red is my favorite colour,
and as I enter into this new venture, it's one I can't resist. I
want to celebrate with colour! So expect a good week of red at
least.
What I spent most of my time doing
today, is sleeping. Battling with depression, I have days like
these, where I can't keep my eyes open, even though I've already slept
hours and hours and hours. It's almost as if the world of dreams
becomes the real world and the waking world a dull dream. My
dreams become vivid and compelling, and it's a struggle to rise from
them. The last part of the dream I remember before waking was
that I lived in South America, and I had created a little burrow in
the Jungle, to sit, and admire the wilderness, and it was filled with
all kinds of birds, and the parrots in particular were fearless of
people, and came to take food from my hands.
My dreams are always elaborate, and
the people in them, even though me, have completely different
histories, and sometimes live in totally fantastical worlds.
When I think about them once awake, it's like I've had a window into
another psyche, because without thinking about it, I can answer
questions about their lives and pasts even if I haven't dreamt those
parts. Wolfe always tells me in the mornings that I recount
pieces of dreams to him, that I should write them as
books.
The highlights of my day, other
than dreaming of a South American jungle bower filled with birds, has
been an orange kit kat bar, and that South Park is on tonight, I'm the
perfect mood for simple base crass humour, South Park is going to hit
the spot.
I was supposed to be going with
Wolfe to the girls (Aya and wife) to shoot photos at their house
tonight, with a female friend of theirs who sounds like a complete
hottie, that I'm really excited wants to pose for/with us. She
is supposedly a fan of the sites, which is great, that always feels
good. It also means that what we can afford to pay her, which is
a membership to the members areas of the sites, will be appreciated.
Well, since I spent my day in
dreams, that's all from me. The other highlights from today, the
backgrounds I've found for all my pillow book pages, and Nikko,
drinking from the rain water collected in the pots on the deck
outside.

Nikko on the back porch, he likes to drink rain
water from the pottery.
