July 23rd - Vacation!
My Vacation starts today... We're going to go to hornby island, one of the local gulf islands and camp for a week. I can't wait to arrive, we should be there tonight in time for dinner. Getting a later start on it because my brother is driving us to the ferry, and he doesn't get up early... so we won't be leaving the house till noon.
Wolfe and I are going camping
with my parents, and my sister with her little niece and nephew. I'm
looking forward to experiencing the magic not only first hand, but through the
eyes of the children too.
I love to be aunt, I'm bringing jelly babies (mini jelly beans), faerie
butterfly wings to wear, stick on butterfly tattoos and lengths of thin red sari
silk, so as far as kids are concerned I come with interesting equipment, though
the other campers are likely to think me a bit batty. (Why swim with water
wings when you can swim with faerie wings?)

I usually camp with my
parents, and we always have a good time, they bring all the food and linen, and
towels and we take the campsite that has a teeny little cabin on it. My
mother does all the cooking, and life is luxury, we only worry about ourselves
and our personal effects. 
At night, by lantern... we play hours of canasta (cards), drink wine, and eat chips and salsa.
During the day, we explore the beaches, laze, swim, walk in the woods, set up mini golf tournaments (my dad brings balls and putters and we create the course), play more cards, go for drives to explore local artisans work - pottery, etc. But mostly just relax.
