Wonderful day

I’m so happy. My girl is home. She’s sick and she’s tired, and I want to take care of her. I adore her.

When I got home this afternoon from a morning of swimming and shopping with my best friend I brought my girl treats I had bought for her. Colouring books, a giant bubble wand and bubbles (those ones that are very phallic… and, er, could be easily perverted. It’s getting filled with water and frozen afterwards!), some sour gummy worms.

We grabbed all the puppies, and settled in the backyard with a blanket.

It was puppy mayhem, but it got peaceful after a while. I was beyond happy to see lots of little birds flirting away in my garden and trees. There was a couple moving into the birdhouse I bought two days ago!… much singing and bird dancing ensued. It was sheer bliss to just lay on a blanket in the yard watching puppies play and birds shack up, and dream about more feeding stations and more birdhouses while petting my pretty topless girl under a shady tree.

We spent a while out in the garden before coming in again. I’m enjoying these days of not even opening my laptop to check my email till 3 in the afternoon or later.   Life should be lived in places like gardens, rather than reclining chairs. I’m in the chair typing again now, but doing a lot less of this and a lot more real life living is a good thing.

Especially when it involves girls, gardens, growing puppies, and giving birds lots of food and shelter.

By the time the month is out I want a bird bath set up, a few more feeding stations with seed, etc, and a whack more bird houses. It’s nesting time. The bird song is the only kind of gossipy chatter I want to hear right now… well, the occasional puppy wrestling match is okay too. I just heard the blue jay tell the raven that the finches are swingers….

Time for lemonade and maybe a snack.

Life is good.

Good days are what make it worth continuing – I’m hoping more of those come as the meds start to work.
