Japanese festival

So I’m starting to feel more like the living again. My flu/cold has receded to the thick flegm stage, oh joy. Other than the congestion, I’m feeling pretty good. Well enough that we were out to the dog park the other night to let the puglettes romp in the ocean and out today at the Japanese festival. More »

I have a cold

I’m dying. I’m the biggest baby in the world when it comes to having a cold/flu. I got hit heavy and hard by a bug. My throat is itchy painful raw and swollen, when I can talk, I croak or it comes out a barely inaudible whisper. My ears are stuffed and I alternate from deaf to popping and hafting to turn down the television. Last night I didn’t keep dinner down, but thankfully I’m not nauseous today. More »

Dog park and tool dip

Took the doggies to the dog park at trout lake today. Love watching loads and loads of all different kinds of dogs playing together particularly if there is water involved. Iggy loves swimming and Bella hates watching him do it, because she’s scared to go above where her paws can touch, so she barks and nips and jumps on him once he’s back on land to tell him off. He only has eyes for squeaky ball. More »

Mouse

Well, we caught a mouse in one of the two traps we set last night. It was terrible, it’s bad when they don’t snap the neck. The trap came down on the back of the mouse, breaking it’s back but leaving it very much alive… and screaming.

Willy Wonka

The movie rocked, pardon the pseudo redneck expression. Lets be kewl, the movie rawked… there that suits my mohawked head better (I am so not a joiner). It was a very pleasant movie indeed. Now I want to see the old one with Gene Wilder, I never had and maybe read the book. Why not. More »

Manchurian Madness and Big baby boys

Well last night after fishing turned into a lazy night, didn’t go to the Chinatown night market after all, but stayed in and watched the Manchurian Candidate on tv, a very good movie, I enjoyed it thouroughly. Speaking of movies the plan for tonight is to take in Willy Wonka -Charlie and the Chocolate factory and I’m super psyched. I really love both Burton and Depp, and from the previews I’ve seen and reviews I’ve read, I know it’s going to be good. More »

Gone fishin’

Well, I went fishing for the first time today, though I myself didn’t actually do any fishing, the casting of the line out looked tricksy, and theres a hook on the end of that sucker! Besides, they call it a ‘sport’ and that word intimidates me! Next time I’ll give it a go. Wolfe had gone out and bought rods and stuffs we would need. He had a bunch of stuff from eons ago, as he has been an avid fisher in the past. We drove out to Chilliwack with Tanuki and we fished in a little river out there in the country side. No luck. It was beautiful though and we saw an osprey dive and snatch a fish out just feet away from us and that was stunning. Saw a number of hawks and a couple of eagles. Also saw some red neck teens with paint ball guns and sling shots. Luckily no trouble there. The pugs were a bit frustrated, not getting to run around free. Usually when we’re in nature they are little romping hooligans. Iggy would have been swimming and splashing in the river… not so good for fishing, and Bella I was nervous might end up as bald eagle food, she’s just the right size. We did let them have a quick romp and swim and chase the ball just before we left as there was no one else fishing close by for them to bother, and I kept an eye on the sky for winged danger.

mohawk

well, I was growing out my hair. I decided yesterday I couldn’t deal with all my conventional curls anymore. ‘regular’ hair just makes me feel frumpy, it had to go. I decided to hawk it, not go all the way bald, and I didn’t take pics, sorry head shave fetish folks. Wolfe sheared me just now, and it feels great to see some scalp! Much cooler in the hot muggy weather. My hair is curly and tends to grow out rather than down for the first 6 inches, so I was feeling fro-ish and not in a pleasant way. Too hard to get it looking nice. The hawk is easy, I never spike them all up, have never gotten the hang of how to get it spikey. But I like braiding it back or just letting it go as it does which is still up, but wavy, as my hair has too much substance to fall to the side even when thinned down to the hawk. More »

Sloth

I’ve been supremely stuck in a rut of sloth lately. Pretty much living on computer games and junk food. I did fall in love… with an antique Chinese apothecary chest. I’ve also started collecting antique chinese snuff bottles. There are entirely too many on ebay, so I’ve tried to stop myself from browsing them, too tempting. I already have 4 I’ve bought coming from Hong Kong. Things have been not too bad. Just seem to be stuck in a low energy rut. Nothing new, still battling the old depression which is the cause of the sloth monster. Thought I would drop a note here, to try and keep some connection running. Going to try to update more often.

Recently came back from a week trip visiting my family in Victoria. I went over to the Island from the Mainland here transporting a puppy to my neice for her 11th birthday. That was a joyous errand. Well the transporting part wasn’t so much, as we got rained on waiting to board the ferry. The weather turned a bit on me and I wasn’t prepared for it. I ended up on an older ferry which didn’t have an enclosed pet area. Meaning I was stuck on the car deck, wet, with cold wind blowing through, I was goose pimply cold. Then, puppy had enough of car rides and ferry rides, and had motion sickness, mostly upchucking on me. So I arrived cold, wet, and smelling like puppy puke. It was still well worth it to see the reaction of my neice and her two younger siblings.

It was a nice visit over all, Wolfe came and joined me later in the week, and we enjoyed my sisters pool and hot tub, and took some naughty pics in said hot tub, as well as in her green house. Both with her permission, we just waited till the kids were not home. They were just nudes of me, nothing too risque.

Speaking of which, Wolfe has just asked me to edit said pictures for the websites, so I’m off.
